Calcium caseinate is an excellent source of high quality protein. Since the protein in calcium caseinate is absorbed more slowly than the protein in whey protein isolate, calcium caseinate is good to take before bed to be digested during the night, which may alleviate morning hunger. I mix this calcium caseinate with cocoa powder and sucralose (Splenda) to make a powder, which when added to hot water makes a wonderful hot chocolate beverage. This high-protein hot cocoa tastes great -- I suppose the other reviewer tried mixing the calcium caseinate by itself with water, which I can imagine is not tasty. Don't try hot-mixing of whey protein isolate, since it will congeal. But calcium caseinate mixes quite well with hot water. The only reason I am giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is that it is not available in a 5lb package, only a smaller 2lb package.

I like this product because it gives me the ability to easily add it to whatever I am eating without altering the original flavor. A lot of people complain about the taste, and I can't fault them because by itself its barley palatable. But the purpose of this product is to be an additive for your morning oatmeal, your post-workout shake, or what have you. And the best part is its high quality and cheap! So don't think of it as just casein protein, but rather as an enhancement to your other supplements.

This is the worst stuff I have ever bought you can't mix it, but it really doesn't have any taste it is cheap and there is a lot of protein for the calories but it isn't worth it trust me.
