There are a lot of reviews of DREN available through other forums, some of which are pretty suspect. From the misspelling of "elciit" on the back of the box, to the extraordinary claims of MHP, I was apprehensive about spending my hard-earned money on this stuff. All my apprehension aside, I tried it today for the first time, and I have to say that I was moderately impressed. I took one pill (as recommended by MHP), and I weigh 205 lbs. After about an hour, I started to feel the DREN kick in. It is not the same effect as say Hydroxycut or the old Xenadrine in that while you feel a great deal more energetic and - yes, even more focused in my limited experience, the only thing you shake from is lifting heavy weight, or a high volume of it. This is pretty good stuff; nothing euphoric about it on the first one. I suspect, though I don't know since I'm not a doctor, that it will take several more days of this stuff to experience whatever "euphoria" MHP is hoping for. The reason I suspect this is that the ingredient L-5 Hydroxytryptophan is used to increase seratonin in some people.
The only reason I don't give this five stars is because so far, I have not seen DREN live up to all of it's claims. The next week or so, may change my rating.
I've been using DREN for a few weeks now, and I have noticed a slight amping of my adrenal system, although nothing like the old ECA stacks we used in the 90's. Also, I've noticed myself "crashing" at night, 'tho not as bad as with ephedrine or Clenbuterol (which was available over the counter in the usa, until the first bush classified it as a controlled substance). Obviously, the MHP people are capitalizing on the memory of this in the name they've chosen for this product. Everyone remembers how well clen worked, and they want us to believe this product is on that level. Not quite, but still, not bad.
After seeing the rather extraordinary claims MHP make about this product, combined with the obvious attempts to make it look pharmaceutical (the blister pack and medicine like box) as well as the blatant "clen" name rip off I thought I'd give it a whirl.
I'll be the first to admit I'm a bit of a stimulant junkie, having used ephedrine products from about 10 or 12 years ago... however I still get a decent kick off them despite being quite attenuated to them. At the same time I ordered Dren I order VPX's Meltdown.
Of the two I'm far more impressed by Meltdown. The kick from Dren is very mild (possibly even placebo) and given Dren's price it probably wouldn't be my first recommendation.
In saying that we (typically) use these products for fat loss and only having tried it for a week it's too early to say whether or not it's effective in that regard.
