| I was skeptical when I ordered this the first time. However, desperate for a low carb stuffing option, I tried this product. I left out the egg and followed the other instructions to a tee. The first batch was too salty...my fault, too much chicken broth. The second batch was perfect! I used it in my stuffed acorn squash recipe and even my husband liked it! I now use it as a side dish for pork chops, turkey, and chicken. No guilt here! It is also delicious with sausage, celery, cranberries, and tart apples. Only caution: keep the salt low and do not over or under cook. |

| We ordered a couple of packages to just try out this product and were delightfully surprised! We follow a strict low-carb lifestyle and found this stuffing mix an answer to a "wish upon a star." It is tasty and has a good texture and is a great substitute for the carb-loaded "normal" stuffing. |

| My husband is diabetic and has been following a low carb diet for many years to help control his sugar levels. Thanks to the availability of low carb products like the stuffing mix, he can enjoy a much wider variety of foods. |

| I followed the instructions incorrectly and put the ingredients in the wrong order. It came out like a savory quick bread rather than stuffing. I added leftover cooked chicken (as suggested on the label) and it made for some nice lunches. I will buy it again and repeat making quick bread for lunches, but I won't buy it for stuffing. |

| Ingredients: Soy protein, dried egg white, wheat bran, corn starch, celery flakes, onion flakes, spices, calcium acid phosphate, bicarbonate of soda, sea salt, vegetable fiber, natural flavors. |
|
| Recommended Use: Preheat oven to 425 degrees. You will need 2 eggs, 1 stick (1/2 cup) of butter and 1-1/2 cups of chicken broth. Crack 2 eggs in a medium bowl.mix with fork until well blended and slightly frothy (approx.1 minute). Set aside. Empty one inner pack of dry mix into another medium sized mixing bowl, Set aside.
In medium sauce sauce pan, place 1-1/2 cups of chicken broth and 1 stick of butter (1/2 cup). Cook over high heat until chicken broth boils and butter melts. TURN HEAT TO LOW.Add the dry mix all at once and stir with spoon until mixture "clumps" together and pulls away from the sides of the pan (about 30 seconds)Remove from heat and place mixture back into mixing bowl.Add 1/2 of the egg mixture. Stir and add remaining egg mixture until well blended.
Spoon into 9 inch x 13 inch baking pan coated with non- stick cooking spray. Unlike "regular" dressing, break up into small clumps in the pan with a fork. Dressing will cover the bottom of the pan, in small clumps.
Bake for 21-25 minutes until golden brown. Ovens may vary.
Variations: Add mushrooms, chicken, sausage, oysters, or home style ingredients of your choice.
Serve as a side dish, topping with low carb gravy or sauce.
Cooked dressing may also be used to stuff your traditional bird. |
