Like another reviewer, I bought two packages of these brownies. The first made according to instructions came out bitter and 15 minutes was not enough time in the oven. I probably baked them 40 minutes and they were still mushy. Had to refrigerate before eating. I followed another's advice on this site and altered ingredients to the 2nd batch (2 eggs, 1/2 stick butter, 1/3 cup water, 1/2 cup Splenda and some peanut butter, baked 30 minutes). Texture good and cakelike but I had terrible problems with flatulence from the sugar alcohol. Don't eat these before going in public! For that reason and the fact you have to add so much to make them palatable and the price, I don't recommend them.

Did not care for these at all. If you have a sensitivity to bitter things (ie. don't like dark chocolate) you won't like these.

I was disappointed in this product, and I bought two. It tasted "crumbly", if that makes sense, kinda dry and "crumbly". No, they didn't crumble, just tasted like it should be! :o) With the second box I'll try what someone else said to do, 1/2 stick butter, 1/3 cup water, 1/2 cup Splenda (or the equivalent) and peanut butter. Trouble is, that's defeating the purpose! :o(

I know all the other reviews are positive, but I found these brownies to be very dry. Maybe I overcooked them? The flavor was good, but I wouldn't buy again based on my experience.

Wow, these were REALLY awful when I made them by following the recipe on the back of the package. I questioned adding an entire stick of butter, and sure enough, the end result was a butter-flavored, salty, bitter-tasting, non-sweetened disappointment. Plus the batter was like stiff cookie dough and hard to spread in the pan! I had ordered 2 packages of the stuff, so decided to give it another try. This time I added 2 eggs, 1/2 stick of butter, 1/2 cup of water AND 1/2 cup of Splenda. It was now a pourable batter and I baked it for 30 minutes. Much better, they actually taste sweet now as the Splenda cut that bitter cocoa flavor they had before. I won't order this again, they are not worth the expense -but I wanted to use what I had already paid for.
