| I've had a wonderful experience with ISS Gainer Matrix. This is one of the (very) few gainers that doesn't contain creatine (a huge plus for me, as I have reservations about creatine supplementation). It's low in fat, and contains enough carbs to help me recover my energy after a heavy workout. The 60g of protein per serving is a bit ridiculous in terms of what the human body can absorb in one sitting, so my recommendation is to only consume a half-serving of this powder at a time (a technique that makes it much more cost-effective as well). The protein mix is great for recovery and muscle growth, too (and contains the gold standard -- egg albumin -- unlike a lot of other blends). This powder doesn't mix as well as some others, but it works well enough. In terms of taste, the vanilla is pretty awful in my opinion, chalky and bland; the chocolate variety, on the other hand, is absolutely fantastic -- much better than any other chocolate protein or gainer powder I've ever tried. All in all, this is great stuff, especially if you want to avoid the creatine that most gainer brands include in their formulas. |

| The best protein supplement I've come across yet. I usually only take half portions (as another reviewer mentioned) and my dollar goes a really long way with this stuff. I've had better results with this product than any other I've tried. Finally, I have yet to try the vanilla but the chocolate is outstanding. I mix with water and use a fork to stir. No problems with grittiness or anything. |
